Version 2.1

Exciting news! Flags replace bookmarks in passMCQ 2.1

Bookmarks become Flags: icons, colours, and names you choose.

Publication Date: April 11, 2026

Release: passMCQ 2.1

Rollout: 2.1 is being released gradually on the App Store, Google Play, and the web app — it may take a little time to reach every device and region.

We're retiring the simple bookmark toggle in favour of Flags — a structured way to mark questions you want to revisit. The first time you open the updated passMCQ app, a one-time, full-screen walkthrough explains the change: what's gone, what's new, and how to move your existing bookmarks forward.

What you'll see

Before

One bookmark — on or off — for each question.

After — Flags
1
Icons Assign a preset icon from a full library of symbols (the app shows a grid of choices, similar to a compact icon picker). Pick the symbol that matches how you want to remember that question.
2
Colours When you edit a Flag, you can swipe between two preset pages: Highlighter and Colour blind friendly — the same swatches as in the app. Below is the colour blind friendly set (vivid, distinguishable hues). Colour-coding makes scanning your list faster.
3
Name Give each Flag a short, clear name — the same idea as the name field in the editor (for example, the name you use for your top-priority items).

Flags apply everywhere you practise:

Migrating your bookmarks

If you had bookmarked questions before this update, the walkthrough includes a primary action: Migrate. Tapping it runs the migration and updates your saved data so those questions work with Flags.

Study and Quiz

As in the app, Flags tie into both Study and Quiz flows — the same labels and actions whether you're reviewing by topic or running a quiz session.

Get passMCQ 2.1

Download or update from the App Store or Google Play, or use the web app. 2.1 rolls out gradually, so the new build may take a little while to show up — once you're on 2.1, opening the app takes you through the Flags introduction.
